Strandclub Velden Winkler is hiring Boat Mechanics for deployment to Austria. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining boat engines and marine systems, including mechanical, electrical, and structural components to ensure safe and efficient vessel operation.

Boat Mechanic

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or College Degree holder in any related technical field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a boat mechanic or in marine mechanical maintenance.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing both inboard and outboard motors, from routine servicing to full engine rebuilds.
• Strong knowledge of marine mechanical systems and propulsion systems.
• Experience installing and repairing 12V and heavy-duty electrical systems on boats.
• Knowledge of navigation systems and marine refrigeration systems.
• Ability to perform through-hull fitting repairs and address water leakage issues.
• Experience with propeller installation, alignment, and replacement.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and marine schematics.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to mechanical detail.
• Physically fit and capable of working in marine or outdoor environments.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in boat engines and marine systems.
• Perform routine servicing and full engine rebuilds when required.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot marine electrical systems.
• Repair navigation, refrigeration, and auxiliary onboard systems.
• Inspect vessels for leaks and perform through-hull repairs.
• Replace and align propellers and related propulsion components.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure vessel safety and performance.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.
• Ensure compliance with marine safety standards and operational procedures.
• Coordinate with supervisors and other technical staff for repairs and maintenance planning.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and clean working conditions.
