Aureol Global Connections is seeking skilled Automation Engineers to support advanced manufacturing operations in Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing automated manufacturing equipment, robotics, and control systems to ensure maximum production efficiency, equipment reliability, and compliance with quality and safety standards.
AUTOMATION ENGINEER
Qualifications:
- Level 6 qualification or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with automation systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in injection moulding or medical device manufacturing is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of PLC systems such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent platforms.
- Experience working with robotics, sensors, machine vision systems, HMIs, and industrial automation equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated control systems.
- Experience with commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and integration of automation equipment.
- Familiarity with manufacturing quality systems, including ISO 13485 and ISO 14001.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering and production teams.
Responsibilities:
- Install, commission, maintain, and troubleshoot automated manufacturing equipment, robotics, and industrial control systems.
- Perform fault diagnosis and repairs on PLC-controlled, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and robotic systems.
- Carry out preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and maximize production efficiency.
- Assist in the commissioning, configuration, integration, and optimization of new automation equipment and manufacturing systems.
- Modify PLC programs, machine parameters, and control logic to improve equipment performance and production processes.
- Support engineering and production teams during new product introductions, process validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Configure and troubleshoot sensors, actuators, servo drives, vision systems, HMIs, and industrial communication networks.
- Coordinate with equipment suppliers, contractors, and project teams during equipment installation, testing, commissioning, and validation.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment history, technical documentation, and service reports in accordance with company procedures.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to increase reliability, productivity, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure automation systems comply with ISO 13485, ISO 14001, workplace safety regulations, and company quality standards.
- Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for recurring equipment issues.
- Provide technical support and training to production and maintenance personnel when required.
- Perform other automation and engineering duties assigned by management.
