Aureol Global Connections is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager (HV Cables) to lead engineering activities for high-voltage and extra-high-voltage cable projects. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership across cable design, installation, testing, commissioning, rectification, procurement, quality assurance, and site engineering operations.

ENGINEERING MANAGER (HV Cables)

Qualifications:

• Significant experience in EHV/HV cable systems, typically 10+ years.
• Strong experience in the design, installation, testing, commissioning, and rectification of 400kV, 275kV, and 132kV AC/DC cable projects.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
• Strong knowledge of IEC standards, British Standards, and National Grid Technical Specifications.
• Experience in technical procurement, Bills of Materials (BoMs), supplier evaluations, and technical specifications for HV cable systems.
• Strong knowledge and experience in cable jointing and termination, including AIS/GIS systems.
• Experience preparing and reviewing RAMS, ITPs, and QA/QC documentation.
• Proven experience leading technical investigations, root cause analysis, NCR closure, and corrective and preventive actions.
• Proven experience developing, managing, and leading engineering teams.
• Strong technical leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be below 56 years old.

Responsibilities:

• Lead engineering activities for HV and EHV cable systems and associated infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership for 400kV, 275kV, and 132kV AC/DC cable projects.
• Oversee cable system design, installation, testing, commissioning, and rectification works.
• Review technical designs, specifications, drawings, calculations, and engineering documentation.
• Lead technical reviews and provide engineering solutions for project requirements and site issues.
• Manage technical procurement activities, including Bills of Materials (BoMs), supplier reviews, and technical specifications.
• Oversee cable jointing and termination activities, including AIS/GIS terminations.
• Develop and review RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) and ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans).
• Ensure QA/QC documentation meets project requirements and applicable standards.
• Lead technical investigations, root cause analysis, NCR closure, and corrective/preventive actions.
• Coordinate with clients, suppliers, contractors, engineers, and site teams to resolve technical issues.
• Provide technical leadership during installation, testing, commissioning, and rectification activities.
• Develop, mentor, and lead engineering teams.
• Ensure engineering activities comply with applicable international and national standards.
• Support continuous improvement and technical best practices across HV cable projects.
• Maintain high standards of safety, quality, technical compliance, and project performance.
