AUTOCAD DRAUGHTSMAN (MECHANICAL)

Qualifications:

• Professional certification in AutoCAD or Building Information Modeling (BIM) is required.
• Minimum of 5–8 years of experience as an AutoCAD Draughtsman specializing in mechanical works within the construction industry.
• Proven experience working on large-scale retail, commercial, healthcare, residential, and mixed-use construction projects.
• Strong background in preparing HVAC drawings, piping layouts, plumbing systems, shop drawings, and as-built documentation.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D drafting and detailing.
• Strong working knowledge of Revit MEP, BIM workflows, and 3D coordination.
• Experience using Navisworks or similar BIM coordination software for clash detection.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings, HVAC layouts, piping schematics, specifications, and installation details.
• Good knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, fire protection systems, and mechanical installation methodologies.
• Familiarity with the Saudi Building Code (SBC), international drafting standards, and company CAD standards.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel, for documentation and scheduling.
• AutoCAD Certified Professional, Autodesk Revit MEP Certified Professional, or BIM Fundamentals Certification is an advantage.
• Proficient in English (written and spoken); Arabic language skills are an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, communication, and time management skills, with the ability to work independently, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and manage multiple drawing packages under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed shop drawings, construction drawings, and as-built drawings for mechanical systems, including HVAC layouts, ductwork, piping, plumbing, firefighting, drainage, chilled water systems, equipment schedules, and mechanical room layouts for large-scale retail, commercial, healthcare, residential, and mixed-use projects.
• Develop, modify, and update technical drawings using AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and BIM software in accordance with design drawings, project specifications, and client requirements.
• Coordinate with mechanical engineers, civil, architectural, and electrical draughtsmen, consultants, and project teams to ensure design integration and resolve clashes across disciplines.
• Prepare isometric drawings, piping schematics, duct sizing schedules, equipment installation details, connection diagrams, riser diagrams, and system flow diagrams.
• Incorporate design revisions, consultant comments, and project changes accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain drawing registers, revision histories, version control, and organized filing systems for all project drawings and documentation.
• Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, company CAD standards, drafting conventions, the Saudi Building Code (SBC), and applicable industry standards.
• Participate in coordination meetings and design review sessions with consultants and project teams.
• Support the preparation of material schedules, equipment specifications, and technical submittals based on approved drawings.
• Coordinate with site teams to verify installation conditions and prepare accurate as-built drawings reflecting completed works.
