Al Bayt Town Operation & Maintenance is seeking qualified Kitchen Commis to assist chefs and kitchen staff with food preparation and cooking while maintaining high standards of food quality, cleanliness, sanitation, and safety. The successful candidate will support daily kitchen operations and ensure food is prepared according to established recipes and procedures

Kitchen Commis

Qualifications:

• Male applicants only.
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related culinary or kitchen experience.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Familiarity with common kitchen equipment and utensils.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, HACCP, and FIFO procedures.
• Physically fit and able to stand and work for extended periods.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Good communication skills.
• Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Willingness to follow food safety, hygiene, and kitchen operating procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, portioning, measuring, and storing food items.
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, fryers, and microwaves safely and efficiently.
• Monitor food quality, portion sizes, freshness, and presentation.
• Follow HACCP, food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen workstations, utensils, tools, and equipment before and after use.
• Maintain proper food storage, labeling, and stock rotation using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method.
• Assist with inventory and ensure food items are properly stored and handled.
• Set up and break down kitchen workstations while maintaining cleanliness and organization.
• Work closely with chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
• Follow instructions from chefs and supervisors regarding daily food preparation requirements.
• Report food quality concerns, equipment problems, and supply shortages to the appropriate supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment throughout kitchen operations.
