HEAD CHEF – PASTRY SECTION

Qualifications:

• Male applicants are preferred
• 5 – 7 yrs. progressive experience in pastry and dessert production, with at least 2-3 yrs in supervisory or head pastry
• Expertise in Pastry, Bread, Cakes, Desserts, Chocolate, Sugar Work, and plated Desserts.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, develop, and execute creative dessert and pastry menus in line with restaurant, hotel, or bakery concepts.
• Supervise and lead the pastry team in daily operations, ensuring high standards of quality, presentation, and consistency.
• Oversee the preparation, baking, and finishing of pastries, cakes, breads, and specialty desserts.
• Design and test new recipes while incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
• Maintain cost control by managing ingredient usage, minimizing waste, and monitoring food costs.
• Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards in the pastry kitchen.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate pastry chefs, bakers, and assistants to develop their skills and maintain efficiency.
• Manage pastry kitchen schedules, assign tasks, and coordinate workflow to meet production and service deadlines.
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef and F&B management to align pastry offerings with overall menu planning. Source high-quality ingredients and establish good relationships with suppliers.
• Monitor inventory, order supplies, and maintain stock levels for smooth pastry kitchen operations.
• Uphold consistent portioning, taste, and quality for all dessert items.
• Handle customer feedback, making adjustments to improve products and guest satisfaction.
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained and report any repairs or replacements needed.
• Stay updated with pastry trends and modern techniques to keep menus
