WIRE DRAWING

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience in wire drawing, cable manufacturing, metal processing, or a related production environment.
  • At least a high school graduate.
  • Experience operating wire drawing machines and related industrial production equipment.
  • Knowledge of wire drawing processes, machine setup, die selection, wire feeding, and production controls.
  • Ability to monitor and adjust drawing speed, tension, lubrication, temperature, and machine settings.
  • Ability to accurately measure wire diameter and inspect surface quality during production.
  • Knowledge of identifying and correcting common wire drawing problems such as wire breakage, improper tension, and surface defects.
  • Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on production and machine operation duties.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and production standards.
  • Able to follow technical instructions, safety procedures, and workplace rules.
  • Good teamwork, communication, reliability, and ability to work in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate wire drawing machines and related production equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Set up drawing machines according to production specifications and required wire dimensions.
  • Prepare and adjust dies, guides, rollers, capstans, and machine controls before production.
  • Load and feed wire into the drawing machine correctly and safely.
  • Select and install the appropriate drawing dies based on the required finished wire diameter.
  • Monitor drawing speed, wire tension, lubrication, temperature, and overall machine performance during production.
  • Adjust machine settings to maintain consistent production output and product quality.
  • Measure wire diameter and verify dimensions using appropriate measuring instruments.
  • Inspect finished and in-process wire for surface defects, cracks, scratches, deformation, and other quality issues.
  • Ensure drawn wire meets specified dimensions, tolerances, and quality requirements.
  • Monitor wire condition throughout the drawing process and take corrective action when abnormalities are detected.
  • Detect and troubleshoot wire breakage, improper tension, surface defects, lubrication problems, and other production issues.
  • Make necessary machine adjustments to maintain stable and continuous production.
  • Replace or change drawing dies and other machine components when required.
  • Maintain proper lubrication and cooling conditions during wire drawing operations.
  • Follow production schedules, work instructions, technical specifications, and quality control procedures.
  • Record production output, machine settings, wire measurements, defects, and other required production information.
  • Keep machines, tools, work areas, and production equipment clean and properly organized.
  • Perform basic inspection and routine maintenance of wire drawing equipment and report major mechanical or operational problems to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
  • Follow workplace safety procedures when operating machinery and handling wire, tools, lubricants, and production materials.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, quality control personnel, maintenance staff, and other production workers to maintain efficient operations.
  • Minimize material waste and maintain proper handling and storage of raw materials and finished wire products.
  • Perform other wire drawing and production-related duties assigned by management.
