A vineyard in Prnjavor, Bosnia and Herzegovina is seeking dedicated Winery Caretakers / Assistants to support vineyard operations and basic winemaking activities. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who enjoy agricultural work and are eager to gain international experience in the wine industry. Successful candidates will assist with vineyard maintenance, grape harvesting, and winery operations while learning modern vineyard practices, including farm tractor operation through employer-provided training.
Winery Caretaker/Assistant
Qualifications:
- TESDA Certificate is preferred.
- Experience in farming, agriculture, horticulture, or crop production is an advantage.
- Experience operating a farm tractor is a plus; training will be provided for qualified applicants.
- Physically fit and willing to perform outdoor agricultural work in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting, carrying, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to learn modern vineyard operations and basic winemaking processes.
- Responsible, hardworking, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic English communication skills are an advantage.
- Couples or relatives are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily vineyard maintenance, including pruning, trimming, watering, weeding, and general crop care.
- Cultivate and maintain premium grape varieties to ensure healthy growth and quality harvests.
- Harvest grapes during the production season using proper handling techniques.
- Sort, clean, and prepare harvested grapes for processing and wine production.
- Assist with basic winery operations, including grape pressing, fermentation preparation, and production support.
- Operate agricultural hand tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Learn to operate farm tractors and other agricultural machinery through employer-provided training.
- Monitor vineyard conditions and report pests, diseases, or crop issues to supervisors.
- Maintain cleanliness of vineyard facilities, equipment, and work areas.
- Follow workplace safety procedures, quality standards, and agricultural best practices.
- Work cooperatively with supervisors and fellow workers to meet daily production targets.
- Perform other vineyard and winery-related duties as assigned.
