WELDER – TIG & ARC (SS)

Qualifications:

• Relevant experience as a TIG and ARC Welder, preferably with stainless steel pipe welding experience.
• Skilled in TIG (GTAW) and ARC/SMAW welding processes.
• Experience welding stainless steel (SS) pipes, fittings, and components.
• Good knowledge of stainless steel welding techniques, joint preparation, fit-up, and welding procedures.
• Able to read and interpret welding symbols, piping isometric drawings, fabrication drawings, and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of appropriate filler materials, electrodes, shielding gases, and welding parameters for stainless steel applications.
• Able to identify common welding defects and perform necessary corrective work.
• Skilled in the safe operation of welding machines, grinders, cutting equipment, and related tools.
• Good understanding of welding safety procedures and hot-work requirements.
• Physically fit and capable of working in demanding industrial and construction environments.
• Able to work effectively with pipe fitters, fabricators, supervisors, inspectors, and other project personnel.

Responsibilities:

• Perform TIG and ARC welding on stainless steel pipes, fittings, and related components.
• Prepare, fit, align, and weld stainless steel materials according to approved welding procedures and project specifications.
• Read and interpret welding symbols, piping isometric drawings, fabrication drawings, and technical specifications.
• Prepare welding joints by cleaning, grinding, beveling, and correctly positioning materials before welding.
• Select appropriate electrodes, filler materials, shielding gases, and welding consumables for stainless steel applications.
• Perform root, fill, and cap passes according to approved welding procedures and required quality standards.
• Maintain proper welding techniques and parameters to achieve good penetration, fusion, and weld appearance.
• Inspect completed welds for cracks, porosity, undercut, incomplete fusion, and other welding defects.
• Perform necessary repairs or adjustments to ensure welds meet project specifications.
• Prevent contamination and maintain the quality and integrity of stainless steel materials during welding.
• Maintain welding machines, tools, cables, electrodes, and other equipment in safe working condition.
• Follow welding procedures, hot-work requirements, workplace safety rules, and project quality standards.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and a safe work area around welding operations.
• Coordinate with pipe fitters, fabricators, supervisors, inspectors, and other project personnel.
• Perform other welding-related duties as assigned.
