WELDER – TIG & ARC (CS)
Qualifications:
- Relevant experience as a TIG and ARC Welder, preferably involving carbon steel pipe welding.
- Skilled in TIG (GTAW) and ARC/SMAW welding processes.
- Experience welding carbon steel (CS) pipes, fittings, and components.
- Able to read and interpret welding symbols, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of proper welding preparation, joint fit-up, welding techniques, and defect identification.
- Able to operate welding machines, grinders, cutting equipment, and related tools safely.
- Good understanding of welding safety procedures and hot-work requirements.
- Able to work accurately and maintain consistent weld quality.
- Physically fit and capable of working in demanding industrial or construction environments.
- Able to work effectively with pipe fitters, fabricators, supervisors, and other project personnel.
Responsibilities:
- Perform TIG and ARC welding on carbon steel pipes, fittings, structures, and related components.
- Prepare, fit, align, and weld carbon steel materials according to approved welding procedures and project specifications.
- Read and interpret welding symbols, fabrication drawings, isometric drawings, and technical specifications.
- Prepare welding joints by cleaning, grinding, beveling, and positioning materials before welding.
- Select appropriate welding electrodes, consumables, settings, and techniques for the required welding application.
- Perform root, fill, and cap passes as required by the approved welding procedure.
- Inspect welds visually for defects such as cracks, porosity, undercut, incomplete fusion, or other imperfections.
- Make necessary adjustments or repairs to ensure weld quality meets project requirements.
- Maintain welding machines, tools, cables, electrodes, and other equipment in safe working condition.
- Follow approved welding procedures, hot-work requirements, and site safety regulations.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and a safe work area around welding operations.
- Coordinate with pipe fitters, fabricators, supervisors, inspectors, and other site personnel.
- Perform other welding-related duties as assigned.
