Welder Fabricator

Qualifications:

• Must have three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in the marine industry.
• Must have relevant experience working on yachts, marine pleasure crafts, or similar marine vessels.
• Must have hands-on experience and technical knowledge relevant to the Welder Fabricator position.
• Proven experience in marine welding, metal fabrication, fitting, repair, and installation.
• Knowledge of appropriate welding processes and techniques for different metals and marine applications.
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings, welding specifications, measurements, and work instructions.
• Skilled in the safe use of welding machines, cutting equipment, grinders, drills, and other fabrication tools.
• Must be able to maintain quality workmanship, precision, and attention to detail.
• Must be able to follow technical instructions and established fabrication procedures.
• Must observe workplace safety procedures, including proper welding, fire prevention, PPE, and equipment safety practices.
• Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on welding and fabrication work in a marine environment.
• Must be able to work effectively as part of a team and coordinate with other marine technical personnel.
• Reliable, hardworking, responsible, and committed to completing assigned work according to required quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Perform welding, fabrication, fitting, and repair work on yachts, marine pleasure crafts, and similar marine vessels.
• Inspect metal structures, frames, brackets, supports, railings, and other components for damage, corrosion, cracks, or deterioration.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, welding specifications, measurements, and fabrication instructions.
• Measure, mark, cut, shape, bend, and prepare metal materials for fabrication.
• Perform MIG, TIG, ARC, or other appropriate welding processes based on project requirements and material type.
• Fabricate and assemble metal components, frames, supports, brackets, fittings, and marine structures.
• Repair damaged or worn metal components and restore structural integrity where required.
• Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, grinding, sanding, and removing rust, paint, or contaminants before welding.
• Set up and operate welding machines, cutting equipment, grinders, drills, and other fabrication tools safely.
• Select appropriate welding consumables, electrodes, wires, gases, tools, and equipment for assigned work.
• Ensure proper welding penetration, alignment, dimensions, strength, and overall workmanship.
• Perform tack welding, final welding, grinding, finishing, and other fabrication processes.
• Inspect completed welds and fabricated components for defects, cracks, porosity, distortion, and other quality issues.
• Perform necessary adjustments, grinding, rework, or repairs to meet required specifications.
• Assist with installation and fitting of fabricated components on vessels.
• Maintain welding machines, tools, equipment, and work areas in clean, safe, and serviceable condition.
• Properly handle welding gases, metal materials, consumables, and workshop equipment.
• Coordinate with marine mechanics, fiberglass specialists, electricians, boat builders, technicians, and supervisors.
• Follow welding procedures, technical instructions, vessel specifications, and workplace quality standards.
• Observe proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), fire prevention measures, ventilation, and other welding safety requirements.
• Report defective materials, equipment problems, structural concerns, and other technical issues to supervisors.
• Minimize material waste through accurate measuring, cutting, fitting, and fabrication.
• Perform other welding, fabrication, repair, and marine maintenance duties as assigned.
