UPS System Technician
Qualifications:
- Male applicants are preferred for this role.
- Minimum of 5 years of working experience in UPS systems, electrical maintenance, or power backup systems.
- Strong knowledge of 1-phase and 3-phase UPS systems, ATS (Automatic Transfer Switches), and battery systems.
- Experience in installation, configuration, and commissioning of UPS and backup power systems.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance, diagnostic testing, and servicing procedures for UPS equipment and battery banks.
- Knowledge of lead-acid and NiCad battery systems and maintenance practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and repair skills for electrical and mechanical failures.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams.
- Good analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Physically fit and capable of performing onsite technical work and emergency repairs.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and wire 1-phase and 3-phase UPS systems, ATS units, and battery monitoring systems according to manufacturer specifications.
- Perform commissioning and operational testing of UPS and backup power systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, routine inspections, and scheduled servicing of UPS hardware and battery banks.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical failures and perform troubleshooting procedures efficiently.
- Replace faulty components and conduct emergency onsite repairs to restore backup power systems promptly.
- Monitor UPS system performance and ensure operational reliability and safety.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and technical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety procedures, electrical standards, and company operational policies.
- Coordinate with engineering and maintenance teams regarding equipment issues and repair activities.
- Maintain tools, testing equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition.
