Almarai Company is seeking an experienced Unit Herdsman to support poultry breeding and hatchery operations in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the health, welfare, and productivity of breeder flocks while ensuring compliance with biosecurity, animal welfare, and operational standards to achieve hatchery production goals.
Unit Herdsman (Hatchery Department)
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in poultry farming, breeder farm operations, or hatchery production.
- Experience in modern hatcheries, poultry farming and production, feed mills, or flour mills is required.
- Experience in port operations is an advantage for Rabigh Port assignments.
- Background in laying, broiler, or breeder operations is preferred, depending on the assigned role.
- Hands-on experience with the SAP System and inventory management is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of poultry husbandry, biosecurity, and animal welfare practices.
- Good organizational, communication, and record-keeping skills.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage the daily care, feeding, and welfare of breeder flocks to ensure optimal health and productivity.
- Implement and maintain strict biosecurity measures to prevent disease and protect flock health.
- Observe bird behavior and health conditions, reporting any abnormalities or health concerns to the veterinary or management team.
- Assist in breeder flock management, egg collection, egg handling, and preparation for hatchery operations.
- Maintain accurate production, mortality, feed consumption, and flock performance records.
- Coordinate with hatchery, veterinary, and production teams to support efficient poultry operations.
- Monitor inventory of feed, supplies, and equipment, ensuring timely replenishment and proper stock control.
- Utilize the SAP System for inventory and operational record management when applicable.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, animal welfare regulations, and workplace health and safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of poultry houses and work areas to support optimal production performance.
