TECHNICAL ENGINEER – DESIGNER (ELECTRICAL)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems is an advantage.
• Minimum of 10–15 years of experience as an Electrical Design Engineer or Technical Designer in construction or engineering consultancy.
• Proven experience in large-scale commercial, hospitality, healthcare, residential, shopping mall, and mixed-use development projects.
• Strong background in electrical system design, power distribution, lighting systems, low-voltage systems, fire alarm systems, and building electrical engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng), LEED AP, or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems is an advantage.
• Proficiency in English is required; Arabic language skills are preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP, ETAP, or equivalent electrical design software.
• Strong working knowledge of DIALux, AGi32, Relux, or similar lighting design software.
• Proficiency in load flow analysis, short circuit analysis, voltage drop analysis, protection coordination, and power system studies.
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical design principles, power systems, lighting design, electrical safety, and sustainable electrical engineering practices.
• Thorough understanding of the Saudi Building Code (SBC), Saudi Electrical Code, IEC standards, and international electrical codes.
• Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings and coordinate multidisciplinary designs using BIM, Navisworks, and clash detection processes.
• Knowledge of energy modeling, power quality analysis, and sustainable electrical design principles.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of technical accuracy and engineering quality.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop electrical systems for large-scale retail, commercial, healthcare, residential, hospitality, and mixed-use projects.
• Perform engineering calculations for power distribution, lighting, low-voltage, fire alarm, security, communication, emergency power, and backup power systems.
• Conduct electrical load calculations, short circuit analysis, voltage drop calculations, cable sizing, transformer sizing, and protection coordination studies using industry-standard engineering software.
• Prepare electrical design drawings, single-line diagrams, power distribution layouts, lighting layouts, panel schedules, cable schedules, and technical documentation in coordination with architectural, structural, and mechanical engineers.
• Review and verify electrical drawings, shop drawings, equipment submittals, and technical documents prepared by consultants, subcontractors, and drafting teams.
  Conduct design reviews, value engineering studies, and system optimization to improve energy efficiency, safety, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
  Prepare technical calculations, engineering reports, equipment specifications, and design submittals for client and consultant approval.
  Coordinate with consultants, equipment manufacturers, contractors, and project teams to resolve design issues, technical conflicts, and multidisciplinary coordination challenges.
  Select and specify electrical equipment including transformers, switchgear, distribution panels, circuit breakers, UPS systems, generators, lighting fixtures, and low-voltage systems based on project requirements.
  Design earthing, lightning protection, emergency power, and backup power systems in compliance with applicable safety standards.
  Ensure all electrical designs comply with the Saudi Building Code (SBC), Saudi Electrical Code, IEC standards, international electrical codes, and project specifications.
  Provide technical support during installation, testing, commissioning, and project execution by reviewing method statements, installation procedures, testing protocols, and commissioning plans.
  Participate in design coordination meetings, technical discussions, system integration sessions, and client presentations.
  Prepare technical presentations, energy analysis reports, electrical load studies, and system performance reports for project management and client review.
• Utilize AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP, ETAP, DIALux, and other engineering software for electrical design, analysis, and documentation.
• Stay updated with the latest electrical technologies, energy-efficient solutions, sustainable design practices, and international engineering standards.
