Supply Chain and Logistics Lead

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience is required.
• Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s / College Degree in Business Studies, Administration, Management, Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics, or a similar field.
• 5–10 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, logistics, or related roles.
• Proven experience in international sourcing and procurement.
• Practical experience managing freight and logistics operations.
• Experience coordinating customs clearance, import duties, and customs documentation.
• Strong understanding of international import and shipping documentation.
• Experience in construction, engineering, infrastructure, or related sectors is preferred.
• Experience working in developing markets is an advantage.
• Experience sourcing or exporting from the Asia-Pacific region is preferred.
• Familiarity with Papua New Guinea import processes is highly advantageous.
• Experience working on modular construction or camp projects is an advantage.
• Strong supplier negotiation and relationship-management skills.
• Good understanding of purchasing, freight, customs, and logistics costs.
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Practical, hands-on, and commercially minded.
• Comfortable working with limited support and taking ownership of procurement and logistics activities.
• Able to develop processes and build a structured supply chain function as the business grows.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with project teams, suppliers, freight providers, and authorities.o

Responsibilities:

• Source materials, equipment, tools, and project supplies from regional and international suppliers.
• Identify reliable suppliers based on price, quality, availability, lead time, and project requirements.
• Obtain and compare competitive supplier quotations.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, and other commercial conditions.
• Prepare, issue, and manage purchase orders in accordance with company procedures.
• Monitor supplier performance, pricing, quality, and delivery reliability.
• Maintain accurate supplier records and performance information.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Identify alternative suppliers to reduce procurement costs, supply risks, and potential project delays.
• Verify that materials and equipment meet project specifications and are fit for their intended purpose.
