Mandurah and South Western Glass Pty. Ltd is hiring experienced Steel Fixers for deployment in Australia. The company is looking for skilled construction workers who can accurately install, assemble, and secure reinforcing steel for concrete structures in compliance with engineering specifications and safety standards.

This opportunity is ideal for candidates with strong experience in structural reinforcement work and large-scale construction projects.

STEEL FIXER

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of working experience as a Steel Fixer.
• Candidates must be at least a graduate of a four-year undergraduate course.
• At least 1 year in college or vocational graduate may be waived from IELTS/PTE English test requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and reinforcement schedules.
• Experience in installing reinforcing steel for concrete structures.
• Knowledge of rebar tying techniques, spacing, lap lengths, and concrete cover requirements.
• Physically fit and capable of working in construction environments.
• Strong understanding of construction safety practices.

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret structural drawings, reinforcement schedules, and engineering specifications.
• Measure, cut, bend, and assemble reinforcing steel bars (rebar) and steel mesh according to project requirements.
• Tie reinforcement steel using wire, clips, and other fastening tools.
• Install spacers, chairs, and supports to maintain correct concrete cover and alignment.
• Cut and bend reinforcing steel using manual tools and powered equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensure proper spacing, lap lengths, and placement of reinforcement as per structural design.
• Assist in preparing reinforcement cages and structural frameworks for concrete pouring.
• Inspect installed reinforcement to ensure compliance with quality and engineering standards.
• Follow site safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools and work areas.
• Coordinate with site engineers and construction teams to ensure accurate installation.
