J. G. SCHULZ PTY. LTD is hiring experienced Metal Fabricators for deployment in Australia. The company is seeking skilled fabrication professionals with strong MIG welding experience and the ability to interpret technical drawings and fabricate metal components for industrial and structural applications.

This opportunity is ideal for candidates with hands-on experience in metal fabrication, welding, and assembly of structural and mechanical components.

Metal Fabricator

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of working experience as a Metal Fabricator.
• Candidates must be a Vocational Diploma or Short Course Certificate holder in Engineering (Industrial) or related fields.
• Must have at least 2 years of MIG welding experience in metal fabrication.
• Applicants must be at least College Level or NC II holder.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of metal fabrication techniques and welding processes.
• Physically fit and able to work in workshop and construction environments.

Responsibilities:

• Study blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements.
• Perform welding and fabrication of metal components according to engineering standards.
• Work with sheet metal, pipes, and structural steel for various fabrication projects.
• Shape and bend metal sections using hand tools, machines, heating, and hammering techniques.
• Build frames accurately while ensuring squareness and structural alignment.
• Compensate for bending and distortion caused by heat during welding processes.
• Straighten and correct any residual deformation in fabricated metal structures.
• Perform MIG welding on materials ranging from 1.6 mm to 25 mm thickness.
• Install and assemble fabricated metal parts as required.
• Ensure all finished work meets quality and safety standards.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and workshop cleanliness.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and fabrication guidelines.
