Job Vacancy: Photovoltaic (PV) system installation technician (Solar Technician)

We are seeking experienced and skilled Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Installers/Electricians to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and commissioning commercial solar PV systems while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
Photovoltaic (PV) system installation technician (Solar Technician)
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in construction, roofing works, electrical installation, and commercial solar PV systems.
- No minimum educational attainment is required.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, power tools, blueprint reading, and electrical schematics.
- Comprehensive experience with commercial photovoltaic (PV) systems, including:
- System design and layout
- Mounting solar panels and structural racking
- DC and AC wiring
- System orientation and panel placement
- Installation and connection of on-grid, off-grid, and hybrid systems
- Ability to work safely at heights and in various outdoor conditions.
- Certification or documented training in Working at Heights and OSHA (or local equivalent) is preferred.
- A valid Wireman’s License or equivalent electrical certification is an advantage.
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual installation work.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team while maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Install commercial photovoltaic (PV) systems, including solar panels, mounting structures, racking systems, and electrical components.
- Perform roof works related to PV installations while following all working-at-height safety procedures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, and PV system schematics.
- Install and connect on-grid, off-grid, and hybrid solar power systems according to project designs.
- Perform electrical wiring, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of PV systems.
- Operate and maintain power tools and installation equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, and company quality standards.
- Conduct inspections, identify installation issues, and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate with supervisors and project teams to ensure timely completion of installations.
