Side Boom Operator

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years working experience as a Side Boom Operator or related heavy equipment operator role.
• Candidates must be at least a high school graduate.
• Experience in oil & gas, refineries, energy, or utilities industries is a strong advantage.
• Overseas experience is preferred, but local experience is also accepted.
• Must provide valid proof of experience such as Certificates of Employment (COE), employment certificates, or project records.
• Skilled in operating heavy side boom pipelayers on various terrains and environments.
• Knowledge of equipment safety, maintenance, and lifting operations.
• Physically fit and ready to comply with deployment and site requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Operate side boom pipelayers safely and efficiently for pipe lifting, alignment, positioning, and lowering operations.
• Lift, align, and place heavy pipes into trenches or hold pipes securely during welding, coating, and wrapping activities.
• Safely maneuver side boom equipment, typically ranging from 40–90 tons, across different and challenging terrains, including mountainous and uneven areas.
• Conduct pre-operation and pre-trip inspections to ensure equipment is in proper working condition.
• Perform basic mechanical maintenance and promptly report equipment defects or repair requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of operating hours, inspections, and maintenance activities.
• Follow all safety regulations, occupational health standards, and company operating procedures at all times.
• Assess worksite conditions and identify potential safety hazards before and during operations.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, riggers, signalmen, and ground personnel using verbal instructions and standard hand signals.
• Support project operations in pipeline construction, oil and gas, refinery, energy, or utility projects.
