Qualifications:
- Candidates must possess a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate in relevant technical or maritime-related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of working experience as a Shipwright or in shipbuilding and marine repair operations.
- Strong knowledge of vessel construction, maintenance, and repair procedures.
- Experience working with wood, steel, aluminum, fiberglass, composites, and plastic materials.
- Skilled in structural work involving hulls, frames, decks, bulkheads, and marine fittings.
- Familiarity with installation of ship components including masts, rudders, engines, and safety equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and shipbuilding specifications.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and craftsmanship skills.
- Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and maritime quality standards.
- Physically fit and capable of working in shipyards and marine industrial environments.
Responsibilities:
- Build new vessels and perform maintenance, repair, and modification works on ships and marine structures.
- Construct and repair hulls, frames, decks, bulkheads, and other structural components.
- Install ship fittings, machinery, safety equipment, masts, rudders, and engines as required.
- Work with various materials including wood, metal, fiberglass, composites, and plastics.
- Inspect structures and identify defects, damages, or repair requirements.
- Ensure all construction and repair works comply with maritime safety and quality standards.
- Operate tools, machinery, and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate with engineering and production teams regarding project requirements and timelines.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization within work areas.
- Prepare and maintain work reports, repair documentation, and material usage records.
