SEWER

Qualifications:

• Female applicants are preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience as a Sewer, Tailor, Dressmaker, or in a similar role.
• No minimum educational attainment is required for this position.
• Proficient in garment construction, alterations, and repair techniques.
• Skilled in operating sewing machines and using tailoring tools.
• Ability to take accurate measurements and perform fittings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Good manual dexterity and time management skills.

Responsibilities:

• Take accurate body measurements and conduct garment fittings to ensure proper fit and customer satisfaction.
• Cut fabrics according to patterns, measurements, and design specifications.
• Sew garment pieces together using hand-sewing techniques and industrial or domestic sewing machines.
• Create custom clothing and perform garment alterations based on client requirements.
• Repair damaged garments, including replacing zippers, fixing seams, patching fabric, and reinforcing stitching.
• Hem pants, dresses, skirts, and other garments, and adjust seams by taking in or letting out fabric as needed.
• Inspect finished garments to ensure quality, accuracy, and proper finishing.
• Maintain sewing machines, tools, and workstations in good working condition.
• Keep work areas clean and organized while following workplace safety practices.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain professional communication with clients.
