Qualifications:
- Female applicants are preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience as a Sewer, Tailor, Dressmaker, or in a similar role.
- No minimum educational attainment is required for this position.
- Proficient in garment construction, alterations, and repair techniques.
- Skilled in operating sewing machines and using tailoring tools.
- Ability to take accurate measurements and perform fittings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good manual dexterity and time management skills.
Responsibilities:
- Take accurate body measurements and conduct garment fittings to ensure proper fit and customer satisfaction.
- Cut fabrics according to patterns, measurements, and design specifications.
- Sew garment pieces together using hand-sewing techniques and industrial or domestic sewing machines.
- Create custom clothing and perform garment alterations based on client requirements.
- Repair damaged garments, including replacing zippers, fixing seams, patching fabric, and reinforcing stitching.
- Hem pants, dresses, skirts, and other garments, and adjust seams by taking in or letting out fabric as needed.
- Inspect finished garments to ensure quality, accuracy, and proper finishing.
- Maintain sewing machines, tools, and workstations in good working condition.
- Keep work areas clean and organized while following workplace safety practices.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain professional communication with clients.
