LOCINOX NV is seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Design Engineer to lead the design and development of advanced electromechanical and electronic products for its Fence & Gate Hardware, Gate Automation, and Access Control product lines. The successful candidate will transform product concepts into market-ready solutions through research, CAD design, prototyping, testing, and continuous improvement. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring designs are optimized for manufacturability, quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

SENIOR DESIGN ENGINEER

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in mechanical, electromechanical, or product design engineering.
• Candidates must hold a Professional License (Passed Board/Professional License Examination).
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electromechanical engineering principles.
• Extensive experience in product design, product development, prototyping, testing, and engineering validation.
• Proficiency in CAD software for 2D and 3D mechanical design and engineering documentation.
• Strong knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) methodologies.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proven leadership ability with experience mentoring junior engineers and designers.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and project coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple engineering projects while meeting quality, cost, and schedule objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and improve mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic products from concept to production.
• Create innovative product concepts for fence and gate hardware, gate automation, and access control systems.
• Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Build, evaluate, and refine prototypes through testing, validation, and performance analysis.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to ensure efficient, cost-effective production.
• Conduct engineering calculations, feasibility studies, design verification, and risk assessments.
• Perform product testing, troubleshooting, and design modifications to improve functionality, durability, and reliability.
• Collaborate closely with Product Management, Manufacturing, Production, and Quality teams throughout the product development process.
• Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, industry regulations, and company quality requirements.
• Investigate customer feedback and field performance to recommend product improvements and innovations.
• Prepare engineering reports, technical documentation, product specifications, and design change records.
• Mentor and coach junior designers and engineers by providing technical guidance and sharing best engineering practices.
• Promote a collaborative research and development culture focused on innovation, precision, and continuous improvement.
• Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and cross-functional engineering projects.
• Perform other engineering duties assigned by management.
