Job Talent is seeking an experienced and technically skilled Offset Printer / Operator to work in Belgium. The successful candidate will operate sheet-fed offset printing machines and be responsible for machine setup, make-ready, color management, print-quality control, troubleshooting, cleaning, and basic maintenance. The position is suited for experienced printing professionals with strong knowledge of CMYK printing, color matching, registration, ink and water balance, and the processing of paper and cardboard materials.

OFFSET PRINTER / OPERATOR

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of experience as an Offset Printer Operator, preferably in commercial or packaging printing.
• Hands-on experience operating sheet-fed offset printing machines.
• Skilled in CMYK printing, color matching, registration, ink/water balance, and print-quality control.
• Strong knowledge of printing plates, blankets, rollers, inks, paper, cardboard, and dampening systems.
• Experienced in machine setup, make-ready, troubleshooting, cleaning, and basic maintenance.
• Ability to detect and correct printing defects, color inconsistencies, and registration problems.
• Experience in packaging, labels, boxes, brochures, or commercial printing is preferred.
• Strong technical understanding of offset printing processes and production requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to precision, productivity, and print quality.
• Vocational or Technical Certificate/Diploma in Printing Technology, Graphic Arts, or a related field.
• Ability to read and follow printing specifications, job instructions, and technical requirements.
• Good understanding of workplace safety and proper handling of printing equipment and materials.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
• Good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Reliable, disciplined, and able to work effectively as part of a production team.

Responsibilities:

• Operate sheet-fed offset printing machines for commercial and packaging printing.
• Set up and prepare offset printing machines according to job specifications and production requirements.
• Perform make-ready activities, including plate, blanket, roller, paper, and ink preparation.
• Prepare and install printing plates and ensure proper alignment and registration.
• Monitor and adjust CMYK color, ink density, color matching, and overall print appearance.
• Maintain proper ink and water balance throughout the printing process.
• Check registration, color consistency, print density, and image quality during production.
• Monitor printing output to ensure products meet approved samples and technical specifications.
• Identify and correct printing defects, including color variations, registration errors, smudging, streaking, uneven coverage, and other quality issues.
• Adjust machine settings and operating parameters to maintain consistent print quality and productivity.
• Handle and properly process different types of paper and cardboard used for commercial and packaging printing.
• Inspect printing plates, blankets, rollers, dampening systems, and other machine components for proper condition.
• Perform routine cleaning of printing machines, rollers, blankets, and related equipment.
• Carry out basic preventive maintenance and report mechanical or technical problems requiring further attention.
• Troubleshoot machine and printing problems and make appropriate adjustments to minimize production downtime.
• Follow production schedules and ensure assigned printing jobs are completed efficiently and on time.
• Maintain accurate production and quality-control records when required.
• Follow established procedures for handling inks, printing materials, plates, and other consumables.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe printing work area.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment.
• Coordinate with prepress, finishing, quality-control, and production teams to ensure smooth workflow.
• Perform other printing, machine operation, and production duties assigned by management.
