WELDING TECHNICIAN
Qualifications:
- Male applicants are preferred for this role.
- Must be 22 to 45 years old.
- A minimum of 2 year(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must possess a Vocational Diploma, Short Course Certificate, or High School Diploma with relevant technical training.
- Must possess an active Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) membership as a Welder Technician.
- Proven experience in SMAW / Shielded Metal Arc Welding (Arc Welding) specifically for black iron steel pipes.
- Knowledgeable and experienced in welding HDPE pipes using a butt fusion / butt welding machine.
- Skilled in jointing, fitting, and assembling PVC piping systems.
- Ability to perform physical pipe installation and work collaboratively within a field installation team.
- Good analytical, technical problem-solving, and safety awareness skills to handle hot works and heavy piping materials.
Responsibilities:
- Perform SMAW arc welding on black iron steel pipes, as well as butt welding on HDPE pipes and jointing of PVC piping systems.
- Execute pipe installation, alignment, fitting, and support assembly in coordination with the field piping team.
- Diagnose and repair weld defects, joint leaks, and pipe alignment errors safely and efficiently.
- Inspect welded joints, pipe connections, and fusion seals to ensure leak-free and reliable system performance.
- Read and interpret piping schematics, engineering blueprints, isometric drawings, and technical specs accurately.
- Support fire system installation projects by operating arc welding machines, HDPE butt fusion equipment, and cutting tools.
- Conduct pressure testing support, weld preparation, joint cleaning, and surface treatment on completed pipelines.
- Ensure strict compliance with international fire safety codes, SCE standards, hot work safety regulations, and company guidelines.
- Coordinate with site engineers, fire system inspectors, and piping supervisors regarding welding schedules and site progress.
- Prepare welding inspection logs, joint tracking records, and technical quality documentation accurately.
