Job Location: Mozambique
Daeah Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd is seeking a qualified Rigging Engineer to oversee lifting and rigging operations for construction projects in Mozambique. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, supervising, and coordinating lifting activities, ensuring all operations are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements.
RIGGING ENGINEER
Qualifications:
- Male applicants are preferred.
- Bachelor’s/College Degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience as a Rigging Engineer or in a similar role within construction or industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of lifting operations, crane coordination, rigging techniques, and heavy equipment handling
- Experience in developing lifting plans, conducting risk assessments, and supervising complex lifting activities.
- Familiarity with applicable lifting standards, industry regulations, and HSE requirements.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural construction environment.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and supervise lifting and rigging operations in accordance with project requirements and approved lifting plans.
- Develop detailed lifting plans, rigging studies, and method statements for the safe movement of heavy equipment and materials.
- Coordinate crane operations, rigging crews, and other project personnel to ensure safe and efficient lifting activities.
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses before lifting operations and implement appropriate control measures.
- Ensure all lifting equipment, rigging gear, and accessories are inspected and certified prior to use.
- Monitor lifting operations to ensure compliance with project specifications, company procedures, and applicable industry regulations.
- Coordinate with project engineers, supervisors, and HSE personnel to resolve technical and operational issues.
- Prepare lifting reports, inspection records, and project documentation.
- Investigate lifting incidents or near misses and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure strict compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements.
