Plate Welder

Qualifications:

  • Male applicants are preferred.
  • Proven experience working in a shipyard.
  • Knowledgeable in different welding techniques applicable to shipbuilding and repair.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills in inspecting and repairing welds.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficient in Arc, MIG, and TIG welding.
  • Strong understanding of marine vessel construction and maintenance requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform welding tasks using various techniques including Arc, MIG, and TIG welding.
  • Read, interpret, and follow technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
  • Prepare metal surfaces for welding by cleaning and selecting the appropriate welding methods and materials based on the vessel’s function and marine conditions.
  • Inspect welds for defects and perform necessary repairs to ensure structural integrity and extend the vessel’s lifespan.
  • Collaborate with the team to complete shipbuilding, repair, and maintenance projects efficiently and safely.
