PAINTER

Qualifications:

• At least a High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience as a Painter, preferably in residential, commercial, industrial, or facility maintenance projects.
• Knowledge of different painting techniques, surface preparation methods, paint types, coatings, and finishing materials.
• Ability to prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, patching, and applying primers before painting.
• Familiarity with painting tools and equipment, including brushes, rollers, spray guns, ladders, and scaffolding.
• Good understanding of applicable occupational health and safety standards and safe handling of paints, solvents, and other chemical materials.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce clean, even, and high-quality finishes.
• Good physical strength, balance, and stamina to perform painting tasks, including standing, bending, climbing, and working at heights when required.
• Good planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage assigned tasks and meet deadlines.
• Good communication skills and ability to understand instructions and coordinate with supervisors and other workers.
• Dependable, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare interior and exterior surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling cracks, and repairing minor surface defects.
• Select and mix paints, primers, coatings, and other finishing materials according to project requirements.
• Apply paint, protective coatings, and finishes using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and other appropriate tools.
• Paint walls, ceilings, doors, windows, metal structures, equipment, and other surfaces as assigned.
• Apply primers, sealants, and protective coatings to help prevent corrosion, weather damage, and surface deterioration.
• Inspect surfaces before and after painting to ensure proper preparation, coverage, color consistency, and finish quality.
• Use ladders, scaffolding, and other access equipment safely when working at elevated locations.
• Protect floors, furniture, machinery, fixtures, and nearby surfaces from paint spills, dust, and damage.
• Maintain painting tools and equipment in good working condition and clean them after use.
• Store and handle paints, solvents, and other materials safely in accordance with company procedures.
• Follow workplace safety regulations, wear appropriate personal protective equipment, and observe proper ventilation requirements.
• Coordinate with maintenance personnel, construction workers, and supervisors to complete painting and maintenance projects on schedule.
• Perform other related painting, coating, and maintenance duties as assigned.
