Peloton Workready is seeking an experienced and skilled Painter for an overseas work opportunity in Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces, protecting surrounding areas, mixing and matching paint colors, applying primers and paint using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment while delivering high-quality finishes.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of working experience as a Painter or in a related painting and finishing position.
- Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in a relevant or similar field.
- Must have a valid passport.
- Must have relevant work experience in the same field.
- Practical experience in surface preparation, priming, painting, finishing, and repainting.
- Skilled in using brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other painting equipment.
- Knowledge of preparing different surfaces, including walls, ceilings, wood, metal, and other construction materials.
- Ability to properly fill cracks, holes, dents, and other surface imperfections before painting.
- Knowledge of paint mixing, color matching, priming, coating application, and finishing techniques.
- Ability to achieve smooth, even, consistent, and high-quality paint finishes.
- Experience protecting floors, furniture, fixtures, trim, windows, and other areas from paint splatters and overspray.
- Ability to safely set up and use ladders, scaffolding, and elevated work platforms when required.
- Good knowledge of safe handling and storage of paints, solvents, thinners, primers, and other coating materials.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety procedures and proper PPE use.
- Physically fit and capable of performing painting work involving prolonged standing, bending, reaching, lifting, and working at heights.
- Good practical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a construction or maintenance team.
- Reliable, hardworking, disciplined, and safety-conscious.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and other surfaces to determine the appropriate preparation and painting requirements.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, washing, scraping, sanding, and removing dirt, grease, old paint, wallpaper, and other surface contaminants.
- Fill cracks, holes, dents, gaps, and other imperfections using putty, filler, caulking, or appropriate repair materials.
- Sand rough and uneven areas to create a smooth and suitable surface for painting.
- Remove loose, peeling, or deteriorated paint and properly prepare affected areas before repainting.
- Apply primers, sealers, undercoats, and other preparatory coatings according to project requirements.
- Measure and prepare the required quantities of paint and other coating materials.
- Mix and match paint colors, tints, and coatings to achieve the required shade and finish.
- Apply paint evenly using brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other appropriate application equipment.
- Apply multiple coats of paint or protective coating as required, allowing appropriate drying time between coats.
- Ensure consistent coverage, color, texture, and finish across walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and other surfaces.
- Perform detailed painting work around corners, edges, windows, doors, fixtures, moldings, and other architectural features.
- Use masking tape, drop cloths, plastic sheeting, and other protective materials to prevent paint from splattering or damaging surrounding surfaces.
- Protect floors, furniture, fixtures, cabinets, windows, and other areas before beginning painting work.
- Assemble, position, and safely use ladders, scaffolding, platforms, and other access equipment when working at heights or difficult-to-reach areas.
- Inspect painted surfaces for runs, drips, uneven coverage, color inconsistencies, brush marks, overspray, and other imperfections.
- Perform touch-ups, additional coats, sanding, or corrective painting to achieve the required finish.
- Maintain proper ventilation and follow safe procedures when working with paints, solvents, primers, and other chemical products.
- Clean brushes, rollers, spray guns, containers, and other painting equipment after use.
- Perform routine maintenance and proper storage of painting tools and equipment.
- Safely handle, transport, and store paints, thinners, solvents, primers, and other materials.
- Keep the work area clean and organized and remove paint debris, masking materials, empty containers, and other waste.
- Restore work areas to their original condition after completing painting activities.
- Follow project drawings, specifications, color schedules, work instructions, and required completion timelines.
- Coordinate with builders, plasterers, carpenters, electricians, and other trades to ensure painting work is completed efficiently.
- Follow applicable Australian construction requirements, workplace safety procedures, and health and safety regulations.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling paints, chemicals, machinery, ladders, scaffolding, and other equipment.
- Report damaged surfaces, unsafe conditions, equipment defects, or material shortages to the supervisor.
- Perform other painting, surface preparation, finishing, maintenance, and related duties assigned by management.
