Interlink Shipping Line Pte. Ltd. is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Operations Manager to oversee and manage the company’s shipping and transportation operations in Fiji. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and cost-effective operation of vessels and related logistics activities while maintaining compliance with maritime regulations and company policies. This role requires strong leadership, operational planning, and decision-making skills, with preference given to candidates with experience in the maritime or transportation industry.
OPERATIONS MANAGER
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Management or a related discipline.
- Experience in the Maritime or Transportation Industry is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant management or operations experience, preferably in shipping, logistics, or transportation.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities.
- Knowledge of shipping operations, maritime regulations, logistics, and safety management systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and operational reporting systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and effectively manage multiple operational priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee the daily operations of vessels and related transportation activities.
- Ensure vessels operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with maritime regulations and company standards.
- Supervise and support operational staff, vessel supervisors, and other personnel to achieve operational objectives.
- Monitor vessel schedules, turnaround times, and resource utilization to maximize operational efficiency.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules with engineering and technical teams to minimize operational disruptions.
- Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Monitor operational costs, prepare budgets, and recommend cost-effective solutions without compromising safety or service quality
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and maritime regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with clients, port authorities, suppliers, contractors, and government agencies regarding operational matters.
- Prepare operational reports, performance analyses, and management updates.
- Lead investigations into operational incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Promote continuous improvement, staff development, and a culture of safety and operational excellence.
- Perform other related duties assigned by senior management.
