PLASTIC TECHNICIAN
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in machine operation within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Mechanical background is highly preferred.
- Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical or Polymer Processing) or equivalent is an advantage.
- Must have completed at least a 1-year vocational course or at least one year of college education.
- Experience operating PVC extrusion, granulation, mixing, or similar industrial machinery.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
- Valid forklift license is an advantage.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively coordinate with the Factory Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor PVC extrusion, granulation, and mixing machinery.
- Perform machine setup, tooling changes, and production line changeovers.
- Load and handle raw materials required for manufacturing processes.
- Ensure finished products meet company quality requirements and Australian standards.
- Conduct pre-start equipment inspections and routine safety checks.
- Complete production reports, machine logs, and operational documentation.
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform basic to advanced machine maintenance.
- Operate overhead gantry cranes and forklifts safely when required.
- Assist in packing and handling finished products on production lines.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Follow Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) policies and maintain a clean, organized, and safe workplace.
- Report equipment faults, production defects, and safety concerns promptly.
