Japan Industrial Testing Co. Ltd. is seeking highly skilled NDT Technician Level II professionals for deployment to Japan. The successful candidates will be responsible for performing non-destructive testing inspections to ensure the integrity, reliability, and safety of materials, components, and structures in accordance with international standards, applicable codes, and company procedures.
NDT TECHNICIAN LEVEL II
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related field.
- Five (5) to fifteen (15) years of practical experience in non-destructive testing inspection work.
- Certification in NDT methods such as ASNT Level I or Level II is required.
- Experience performing inspections using UT, RT, MT, PT, and VT methods.
- Knowledge of ASNT standards and certification requirements.
- Ability to interpret applicable codes, standards, technical specifications, and inspection procedures.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance and inspection processes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with engineering and production personnel.
- Willing to work in Japan.
Responsibilities:
- Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections independently as a Level II Technician using approved inspection methods.
- Conduct Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Penetrant Testing (PT), and Visual Testing (VT) within the scope of Level II certification.
- Interpret and evaluate inspection results according to applicable codes, standards, specifications, and client requirements.
- Identify defects, discontinuities, and material conditions that may affect structural integrity and safety.
- Prepare accurate inspection reports, test records, and documentation of findings.
- Maintain inspection logs and ensure proper documentation of all NDT activities.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to resolve quality-related concerns.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and client specifications.
- Operate, maintain, calibrate, and manage NDT equipment and instruments to ensure accurate test results.
- Follow occupational health and safety regulations and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Adhere to site safety rules and maintain safe working practices during inspection activities.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support continuous enhancement of inspection processes.
- Perform other NDT-related duties as assigned by management.
