Australian Skilled Migration is currently seeking experienced and highly skilled Mechanical Fitter Machinists for deployment to Australia. The successful candidate will perform maintenance, repair, machining, and fabrication activities for offshore and marine mechanical equipment.
MECHANICAL FITTER MACHINIST
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the same field.
- At least 1 year in college or completion of a 1-year vocational course.
- Must have offshore ship experience.
- Knowledgeable in maintenance, repair, fabrication, and machining of marine mechanical equipment.
- Familiar with offshore safety procedures and permit-to-work systems.
- Skilled in operating:
- Lathe machines
- Milling machines
- Drilling equipment
- Grinding machines
- Strong knowledge of pumps, valves, compressors, diesel engines, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Good troubleshooting, alignment, calibration, and fault diagnosis skills.
- Good English communication skills and ability to work within offshore teams.
- Physically fit and capable of working in offshore and marine environments.
- Responsible, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out maintenance, repair, and overhaul of pumps, valves, compressors, diesel engines, gearboxes, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Perform precision machining using lathe machines, milling machines, drilling machines, and grinding equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals accurately.
- Conduct alignment, calibration, troubleshooting, and fault diagnosis of rotating equipment.
- Fabricate and fit replacement mechanical parts according to technical specifications.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance onboard offshore vessels and marine facilities.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and repair documentation.
- Support dry dock operations and emergency repair activities when required.
- Coordinate with marine engineers, supervisors, and offshore crew members to ensure efficient operations.
- Follow offshore safety regulations, permit-to-work systems, and company operational procedures at all times.
