Traditional Meat Company (Ireland) Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical / Refrigeration Engineer to support its food manufacturing and abattoir operations in Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving mechanical, refrigeration, and utility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous production operations in compliance with industry standards.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER / REFRIGERATION ENGINEER

Qualifications:

• Licensed Mechanical Engineer.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, and refrigeration systems.
• Welding and fabrication skills are required.
• Knowledge of control systems and industrial sensors.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong English communication skills.
• Experience in food manufacturing and abattoir operations is required.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and technical troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems, refrigeration systems, and plant utilities.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment used in food production and abattoir operations.
• Work with hydraulics, pneumatics, and refrigeration systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve technical faults in mechanical and control systems.
• Support installation, commissioning, and improvement of equipment and machinery.
• Carry out welding and fabrication tasks as required for repairs and modifications.
• Monitor and maintain control systems, sensors, and automation components.
• Ensure all engineering work complies with food safety, hygiene, and industry regulations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and documentation.
• Coordinate with production teams to minimize downtime and improve operational efficiency.
