The company is seeking an experienced Fitter Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair machinery and equipment within a feed mill. The successful candidate will play an important role in minimizing equipment downtime, maintaining operational efficiency, and ensuring a safe working environment.
FITTER MECHANIC
Qualifications:
- Age: 24 – 45 years old
- With drivers license
- Previous experience working as a Fitter, Mechanic, or Maintenance Technician in an industrial or agricultural setting.
- Strong mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience maintaining heavy machinery and industrial equipment.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems is an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, particularly during equipment breakdowns.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative when required.
- Good level of welding and fabrication experience.
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Practical, reliable, and detail-oriented approach to mechanical maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on feed mill machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults.
- Perform preventative maintenance to minimize breakdowns and equipment downtime.
- Inspect machinery and identify potential mechanical problems before failures occur.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns in coordination with the mill operations team.
- Repair, replace, and adjust defective mechanical components.
- Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, schematics, and equipment documentation.
- Perform welding and fabrication work when required.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, service reports, and repair documentation.
- Follow established maintenance procedures and industry best practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve machinery efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with applicable health and safety regulations.
- Work closely with production and mill operations teams to support uninterrupted operations.
