Maintenance Mechanical Technician

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience, preferably in oil and gas, petrochemical, utility, or gas-processing facilities.
• Candidates must possess a Vocational Diploma or Short Course Certificate in a related technical field.
• Male applicants are preferred for this role.
• Strong knowledge of rotating and stationary equipment, including pumps, compressors, turbines, fans, gearboxes, bearings, seals, valves, piping systems, and heat exchangers.
• Experience performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, engineering drawings, technical manuals, and maintenance procedures.
• Proficient in using precision measuring instruments and alignment equipment.
• Familiarity with equipment isolation, line breaking, stored-energy control, gas testing, confined space entry, lifting operations, and emergency response procedures.
• Knowledge of API, ASME, and ISO engineering and maintenance standards.
• Relevant training or certification in shaft alignment, vibration monitoring, flange management, controlled bolting, or rigging is an advantage.
  Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Physically fit and able to work in industrial plant environments and varying weather conditions.
• Good communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment to ensure safe and reliable plant operations.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, and maintain pumps, compressors, turbines, fans, gearboxes, bearings, couplings, seals, lubrication systems, heat exchangers, vessels, filters, piping systems, valves, flanges, and pipe supports.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and recommend appropriate repair or replacement of defective components.
• Perform equipment alignment, balancing, and precision measurements using appropriate alignment and measuring instruments.
• Read and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), isometric drawings, general arrangement drawings, sectional drawings, equipment manuals, and work instructions.
• Safely use hand tools, power tools, torque tools, micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators, feeler gauges, and alignment equipment.
• Carry out flange management, controlled bolting, gasket replacement, and piping maintenance activities.
• Participate in equipment isolation, line breaking, lockout/tagout (LOTO), stored-energy control, and other safe maintenance practices.
• Conduct maintenance activities in confined spaces, elevated work areas, and hazardous industrial environments while complying with safety procedures.
• Assist with vibration monitoring, condition monitoring, and predictive maintenance programs.
• Perform lifting and rigging activities safely in accordance with approved lifting procedures.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, work orders, and equipment history.
• Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, planners, and operations personnel to minimize equipment downtime.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices and ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained.
• Comply with company policies, Saudi regulations, and applicable API, ASME, and ISO standards.
• Perform other maintenance duties assigned by supervisors or management.
