Global Skilled Employment Services is urgently seeking qualified Maintenance / Mechanical Engineering Technicians with hands-on experience in meat processing equipment. The successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the efficient operation of specialized machinery used in meat processing facilities.
Maintenance / Mechanical Engineering Technician
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, Industrial Engineering, or Industrial Technology
- Minimum of 2–3 years of recent and relevant experience in a similar role
- Hands-on experience in maintaining and repairing meat processing equipment such as grinders, band saws, skinning machines, and bone cutters
- Strong mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting skills
- Good understanding of preventive maintenance practices
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and equipment specifications
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Strong commitment to safety and quality standards
Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of meat processing equipment
- Ensure proper functioning of machines such as meat grinders, band saw machines, skinning machines, and bone cutter machines
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and implement effective solutions
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the workplace
- Follow operational procedures and safety regulations at all times
- Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations
