KITCHEN HELPER

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience is required.
• No minimum educational attainment is required for this position.
• Male applicants are preferred for this role.
• Previous experience as a Kitchen Helper, Kitchen Assistant, Food Preparation Worker, or similar position is an advantage.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation, including washing, peeling, cutting, slicing, and chopping ingredients.
• Able to assist with basic plating, garnishing, salad preparation, and food assembly.
• Able to properly handle, store, and organize food ingredients and kitchen supplies.
• Knowledge of proper dishwashing, kitchen cleaning, sanitation, and food safety procedures.
• Physically capable of standing for extended periods and performing active kitchen duties.
• Able to lift, carry, unload, and store food supplies and kitchen materials safely.
• Good teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
• Able to follow instructions accurately and work under the supervision of chefs and kitchen managers.
• Hardworking, reliable, responsible, and willing to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities:

• Wash, peel, clean, chop, slice, and dice fruits and vegetables according to kitchen requirements.
• Assist cooks and chefs with basic food preparation and ingredient preparation.
• Assist with plating dishes, arranging garnishes, and assembling simple food items such as salads.
• Weigh, measure, and retrieve ingredients from refrigerators, freezers, storage areas, and stockrooms.
• Prepare ingredients and supplies needed for daily kitchen operations.
• Restock kitchen workstations with necessary tools, ingredients, condiments, and supplies.
• Assist in organizing ingredients and food items in designated storage areas.
• Receive and unload food, beverage, and kitchen supply deliveries.
• Check delivered items and place them in their appropriate storage locations.
• Store food and supplies properly to maintain freshness, quality, and food safety.
• Wash, dry, and properly store dishes, glasses, pots, pans, utensils, and cutlery.
• Keep dishwashing areas, sinks, counters, preparation areas, and other kitchen spaces clean and organized.
• Assist with cleaning kitchen equipment, tools, and work surfaces.
• Monitor stock levels of ingredients, condiments, and kitchen supplies.
• Report shortages, damaged items, or other inventory concerns to the Kitchen Manager or supervisor.
• Help maintain proper organization of refrigerators, freezers, cabinets, and storage areas.
• Follow proper food handling, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Minimize food waste through proper handling, preparation, storage, and portioning.
• Assist chefs and kitchen staff during busy service periods.
• Ensure that kitchen tools and equipment are returned to their proper locations after use.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly kitchen throughout the working shift.
• Follow instructions from chefs, supervisors, and the Kitchen Manager.
• Perform other kitchen support and cleaning duties assigned by management.
