SAIPEM / Osman Gazi Project is seeking an experienced Instrument Technician Lead – Hull for an overseas employment opportunity in Turkey. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership for hull instrumentation and control system maintenance activities, ensuring efficient troubleshooting, repair, calibration, team coordination, and compliance with HSE standards.
INSTRUMENT TECHNICIAN LEAD (HULL)
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an Instrument Technician Lead – Hull or in a related instrumentation leadership role.
- Strong background in instrumentation and control system maintenance.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting, repair, testing, and calibration of instruments and control equipment.
- Knowledge of CMMS systems, including SAP, Maximo, Datastream, or similar platforms.
- Experience in offshore, marine, or Oil & Gas environments.
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
- Ability to provide technical direction and support to Instrument Technicians.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Strong commitment to HSE standards and safe working practices.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate instrumentation maintenance activities within hull and marine project areas.
- Perform and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance on instrumentation and control systems.
- Inspect, test, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair instruments and control equipment.
- Diagnose instrumentation faults and determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Provide technical guidance to Instrument Technicians and coordinate daily maintenance activities.
- Monitor maintenance work to ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and according to approved procedures.
- Perform functional testing and verification of instruments following repairs and maintenance.
- Use appropriate testing instruments, tools, and diagnostic equipment safely.
- Manage maintenance work orders and equipment records through CMMS systems such as SAP, Maximo, Datastream, or similar platforms.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, equipment faults, repairs, and calibration results.
- Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, operations personnel, and other maintenance disciplines.
- Support commissioning, shutdown, inspection, testing, and other project maintenance activities when required.
- Ensure instrumentation maintenance work complies with technical specifications, project procedures, and manufacturer recommendations.
- Monitor the condition of tools, testing equipment, instruments, and spare parts.
- Identify equipment defects, technical problems, and potential safety hazards and report them promptly.
- Promote effective teamwork and communication among instrumentation personnel.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements.
- Participate in emergency and critical maintenance activities when required.
