HEAVY EQUIPMENT MECHANIC (Specialized in Engines & Gears)

Qualifications:

• Must have a Technical Diploma or Vocational Certificate in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, Heavy Equipment Technology, Diesel Mechanics, Hydraulics, or a related field.
• Must have proven hands-on experience in heavy equipment maintenance, including excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, dump trucks, or similar machinery.
• Experience with crusher plants, hydraulic systems, and/or diesel-powered pumps is highly advantageous.
• Must be capable of diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, gears, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, heavy equipment, trucks, and diesel pumps.
• Experience in construction or infrastructure projects is highly preferred.
• Must have strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• A valid driving license is an advantage, where applicable.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, dump trucks, and other construction machinery.
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, gearboxes, transmissions, and drivetrain systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, including hydraulic components and related equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical systems in heavy equipment and trucks.
• Maintain and repair diesel-powered pumps and associated mechanical systems.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure equipment remains safe, reliable, and operational.
• Identify mechanical faults using appropriate diagnostic tools and repair equipment according to technical specifications.
• Inspect machinery for signs of wear, damage, leaks, or other mechanical problems and recommend necessary repairs.
• Maintain proper records of inspections, repairs, maintenance activities, and replacement parts.
• Follow established workplace safety procedures and equipment maintenance standards.
