Generator Technician

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in testing and commissioning of new diesel generator sets.
• Experience in preventive service maintenance of client generator units is required.
• Experience with Perkins, Cummins, CAT, MTU, or similar diesel generator brands.
• Experienced in installation and troubleshooting of new spare parts.
• Strong experience in simulation and final testing of generator systems.
• High School or Vocational graduate.
• Good knowledge of diesel generator mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to diagnose equipment faults and perform appropriate troubleshooting and repairs.
• Familiarity with generator testing instruments, tools, controls, and safety procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a technical team.
• Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on technical work in demanding work environments.
• Reliable, hardworking, safety-conscious, and willing to follow technical instructions and company procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct testing and commissioning of new diesel generator sets.
• Perform preventive service maintenance on client generator units.
• Service and maintain diesel generators from major brands such as Perkins, Cummins, CAT, and MTU.
• Inspect generator engines, electrical systems, control panels, batteries, cooling systems, fuel systems, and related components.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems in diesel generator sets.
• Identify faulty, worn, or damaged components and recommend appropriate corrective action.
• Install and replace new spare parts according to manufacturer specifications and service requirements.
• Perform testing and troubleshooting after spare parts installation.
• Conduct system simulation and operational testing to verify proper generator performance.
• Carry out final testing and inspection before handing over generator units to clients.
• Check generator output, operating parameters, alarms, controls, and safety systems.
• Perform routine inspections to identify potential equipment problems before breakdowns occur.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Follow manufacturer guidelines, technical procedures, and workplace safety standards.
• Use appropriate tools, testing instruments, and diagnostic equipment safely and correctly.
• Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and other technicians during installation, maintenance, and commissioning activities.
• Ensure all assigned work is completed efficiently and according to required quality standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly care for tools and equipment.
• Perform other generator maintenance, testing, and technical duties assigned by management.
