Just Automotive Recruitment is seeking experienced Fitters (General) to install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot industrial manufacturing machinery in a safety-critical environment. The successful candidate will ensure equipment operates efficiently and reliably while supporting production through preventive maintenance and effective fault diagnosis.

FITTER (GENERAL)

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience as a General Fitter or in a similar industrial maintenance role.
• Demonstrated experience maintaining and repairing industrial manufacturing machinery in a safety-critical environment.
• Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting, and practical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and maintenance manuals.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead by example and work effectively within a maintenance team.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, equipment maintenance, and safe work practices.
• Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on maintenance work.
• Willing to work in Australia and comply with workplace safety standards and company policies.

Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair industrial manufacturing machinery and mechanical equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out efficient repairs using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, and maintenance documentation.
• Inspect machinery and identify worn or defective components for repair or replacement.
• Assemble, align, and test mechanical systems to ensure proper operation.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, service reports, and equipment logs.
• Ensure all maintenance work complies with workplace safety regulations and company procedures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and operational efficiency.
• Provide guidance and lead by example during assigned shifts to promote safe and productive work practices.
• Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to resolve equipment issues promptly.
• Perform other related duties assigned by supervisors.
