Peloton Workready Pty. Ltd is currently seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanics specializing in Drill Rig Equipment to support mining, construction, and exploration operations across Australia. The role focuses on maintaining operational reliability, minimizing equipment downtime, and ensuring safe and efficient drilling operations.

Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Drill RIG Mechanic)

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Drill Rig Mechanic
  • Proven experience working with drill rigs and mining equipment
  • Skilled in hydraulics and component change-outs on complex machinery
  • Knowledgeable in hydraulic and pneumatic system troubleshooting
  • Experience in diesel engine servicing and preventive maintenance
  • Ability to diagnose and repair drill rig equipment efficiently
  • Able to read and understand schematic drawings and technical manuals
  • Can recognize and interpret hydraulic symbols and valves on schematic drawings
  • Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and testing equipment
  • Certificate in drill rig or heavy equipment training is preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to follow safety procedures
  • Committed to safety-compliant work practices in industrial environments

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair drill rigs and heavy equipment used in mining and construction projects
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical system issues
  • Perform preventive maintenance and component replacements
  • Conduct inspections and servicing of diesel engines and drilling equipment
  • Interpret hydraulic schematics, manuals, and work orders
  • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify faults and repair requirements
  • Ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime
  • Follow workplace safety standards and company operational procedures
