DIESEL MECHANIC

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience.
• At least High School Graduate.
• Previous experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Automotive Mechanic, or similar position is preferred.
• Knowledge of diesel engines, mechanical systems, and heavy equipment maintenance.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical faults using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Experience repairing diesel engines, brakes, transmissions, steering, suspension, and fuel systems.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures, including oil changes, filter replacement, lubrication, and fluid checks.
• Ability to inspect, repair, replace, and adjust mechanical components.
• Ability to safely operate common automotive and heavy equipment workshop tools.
• Good mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and follow technical instructions and equipment maintenance procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual mechanical work.
• Willing to work in a workshop and equipment maintenance environment.
• Strong awareness of workplace health and safety requirements.
• Responsible, hardworking, reliable, and safety-conscious.
• Must have a valid passport.
• Must be able to speak and communicate in English.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect diesel engines, vehicles, and heavy equipment to identify mechanical problems and potential failures.
• Diagnose mechanical faults using appropriate diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and technical information.
• Troubleshoot diesel engine, fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Repair, replace, and adjust defective or worn components.
• Perform repairs on engines, brakes, transmissions, steering, suspension, and fuel systems.
• Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
• Perform oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, fluid checks, and other scheduled maintenance tasks.
• Inspect belts, hoses, batteries, cooling systems, fuel systems, and other engine components.
• Check and maintain braking, steering, suspension, and transmission systems.
• Identify abnormal noises, leaks, vibrations, and other signs of equipment malfunction.
• Remove, repair, replace, and reinstall mechanical components as required.
• Use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, lifting equipment, and workshop machinery safely.
• Follow manufacturer specifications and company maintenance procedures when performing repairs.
• Conduct functional and operational tests after repairs and maintenance.
• Test repaired vehicles and heavy equipment to verify proper operation and safety.
• Ensure equipment is ready for use and meets company operating standards.
• Maintain accurate service, inspection, maintenance, and repair records.
• Document parts replaced, repairs completed, diagnostic findings, and maintenance activities.
• Report major mechanical problems, equipment defects, and parts requirements to supervisors.
• Assist in identifying recurring equipment problems and recommend appropriate corrective action.
• Maintain tools, diagnostic equipment, and workshop areas in good working condition.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop and work area.
• Coordinate with other mechanics, equipment operators, supervisors, and workshop personnel.
• Perform other mechanical repair and maintenance duties assigned by management.
