Sim Kim Huat Trading Co Sdn Bhd is seeking a qualified and experienced Finance Manager to oversee the company’s financial and accounting operations in Brunei. The successful candidate will manage financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow, accounting controls, and financial planning while providing accurate financial information to support effective business decisions.

FINANCE MANAGER

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Finance Manager, Accounting Manager, Financial Controller, or in a similar finance-related position.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
  • Good understanding of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and month-end closing procedures.
  • Experience in preparing budgets, forecasts, financial statements, and management reports.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel, and familiar with accounting or financial management software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret financial information and communicate findings and recommendations clearly to management.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Leadership and team-management skills with the ability to supervise accounting and finance staff effectively.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, accountability, and professionalism.
  • Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently as well as coordinate effectively with management and other departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily finance and accounting operations and ensure transactions are accurately recorded and properly documented.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Manage the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and cash flow projections.
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, income, expenses, and overall financial performance.
  • Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliation activities.
  • Ensure timely collection of receivables and proper processing of supplier and other company payments.
  • Analyze financial results, identify significant variances, and provide recommendations to management.
  • Monitor operating costs and implement effective measures to control expenses and improve profitability.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate accounting procedures, financial controls, and internal processes.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax requirements, and company financial policies.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, banks, suppliers, customers, and relevant financial institutions when required.
  • Review invoices, payment requests, financial documents, and supporting records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
  • Assist management in financial planning, investment decisions, business analysis, and strategic planning.
  • Identify financial risks and recommend appropriate measures to protect company assets and financial resources.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to accounting and finance personnel.
  • Ensure all financial reports, payments, reconciliations, and other accounting activities are completed within required deadlines.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial, accounting, payroll, and business information.
  • Assist in improving accounting systems, reporting procedures, and financial management processes.
  • Perform other finance and accounting duties as assigned by management.
