Peloton Workready Pty. Ltd is currently hiring skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanics (Hydraulic Fitters) to support leading employers across Australia. The role involves installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of hydraulic systems used in heavy equipment and underground mining machinery while ensuring safety, reliability, and efficient system performance.

Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Hydraulic Fitter)

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Hydraulic Fitter
• Must possess a Diesel Fitter or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic Trade Qualification with hydraulic experience
• Experience working with hydraulics and component change-out on complex underground mining machines
• Experienced in troubleshooting hydraulic and mechanical systems
• Knowledgeable in installation and repair of hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, and fittings
• Experience working with drill rigs and mining equipment brands such as Sandvik, Komatsu, Joy, and Epiroc
• Familiarity with machines such as Joy CN12 Continuous Miner is an advantage
• Ability to read and understand schematic drawings, hydraulic symbols, and valves
• Skilled in preventive maintenance and the use of diagnostic tools and equipment
• Certificate in drill rig or heavy equipment training is preferred
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Capable of interpreting complex drawings, parts manuals, and work orders
• Strong commitment to safety-compliant work practices

Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair hydraulic systems used in heavy equipment and industrial machinery
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic and mechanical issues
• Perform component replacements and system overhauls on underground mining equipment
• Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and performance
• Use diagnostic tools and testing equipment to identify faults and repair requirements
• Interpret hydraulic schematics, technical drawings, and manuals
• Ensure all maintenance work complies with workplace safety standards and procedures
• Support continuous and efficient operation of mining and heavy equipment machinery
