Ace Alloy Wheel Repair is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to support its automotive repair operations in Australia. The successful candidate will assess vehicle and alloy wheel damage, determine the scope of repair work, calculate labor and material costs, prepare accurate quotations, and coordinate with customers and workshop personnel. The role requires strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prepare cost estimates that support efficient workshop operations and customer service.

Qualifications:
- Relevant education or training in automotive repair, estimating, business administration, accounting, or a related field is an advantage.
- Previous experience in automotive estimating, vehicle repair, alloy wheel repair, or a similar workshop environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of automotive repair procedures, labor requirements, replacement parts, and material costs.
- Ability to assess damage and determine the scope of repair work accurately.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard office applications.
- Familiarity with automotive estimating software or workshop management systems is an advantage.
- Ability to prepare clear, accurate, and detailed quotations.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and cost calculations.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with customers, suppliers, technicians, and workshop management.
- Honest, reliable, professional, and committed to providing accurate cost estimates.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect damaged alloy wheels, vehicle components, and other assigned items to assess repair requirements.
- Evaluate the extent of damage and determine whether repair or replacement is appropriate.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, replacement parts, and other repair-related expenses.
- Calculate repair costs based on labor requirements, material usage, parts pricing, and workshop procedures.
- Prepare detailed quotations and cost breakdowns for customers and relevant personnel.
- Review customer requests, photographs, inspection findings, and other information needed to prepare estimates.
- Consult with technicians, panel beaters, vehicle painters, and other workshop staff to determine repair methods and labor requirements.
- Identify additional damage or repair requirements that may affect the original estimate.
- Obtain and verify parts prices, material costs, and supplier quotations when necessary.
- Use estimating software, spreadsheets, and other computer applications to prepare and maintain cost estimates.
- Maintain accurate records of quotations, repair estimates, approvals, and job-related documentation.
- Communicate estimated costs, repair options, and expected completion schedules to customers or authorized representatives.
- Follow up on quotations and coordinate with the relevant personnel regarding customer approvals.
- Compare estimated costs with actual repair expenses and report significant differences when required.
- Assist with reviewing workshop productivity, labor utilization, and repair costs.
- Ensure estimates are consistent with workshop pricing policies and applicable repair procedures.
- Coordinate with the workshop team to help ensure approved work is completed within the estimated scope and budget.
- Maintain organized records of supplier prices, labor rates, materials, and standard repair costs.
- Protect confidential customer and business information.
- Perform other estimating, administrative, and workshop coordination duties assigned by management.
