Ace Alloy Wheel Repair is seeking a skilled and experienced Panel Beater to join its automotive repair team in Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing damaged vehicle body panels, restoring vehicle body structures, removing dents, and preparing repaired surfaces for refinishing. The role requires technical knowledge of automotive body repair, proficiency in using specialized tools and equipment, and a strong commitment to quality workmanship and workplace safety.

Qualifications:
- Relevant training, certification, or qualification in automotive body repair, panel beating, or a related field is an advantage.
- Previous experience as a Panel Beater or automotive body repair technician is preferred.
- Knowledge of vehicle body construction, metal reshaping, dent removal, and panel replacement.
- Ability to use panel-beating tools, pulling equipment, measuring instruments, and other body repair machinery.
- Familiarity with automotive body repair procedures and vehicle panel alignment.
- Ability to interpret repair instructions and follow technical specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to assess vehicle body damage accurately.
- Ability to work independently and cooperate with other workshop personnel.
- Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on automotive repair tasks.
- Knowledge of workshop safety procedures and proper use of PPE.
- Reliable, organized, hardworking, and committed to completing repairs efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect damaged vehicles and assess the extent of damage to body panels and structural components.
- Identify dents, scratches, deformations, and other vehicle body defects requiring repair.
- Read and interpret repair instructions, vehicle specifications, and relevant technical information.
- Remove, repair, reshape, or replace damaged vehicle body panels and components.
- Repair dents and restore metal panels to their original shape using appropriate techniques.
- Use hammers, dollies, pulling equipment, and other panel-beating tools to carry out body repairs.
- Remove and reinstall vehicle components, trims, fittings, and accessories as required.
- Use specialized equipment to straighten damaged panels and restore vehicle body alignment.
- Carry out minor body structural repairs in accordance with repair specifications and safety requirements.
- Prepare repaired surfaces for sanding, filling, priming, and painting.
- Apply body fillers and perform surface preparation to achieve a smooth and even finish.
- Work with replacement panels and ensure proper fit, alignment, and attachment.
- Use measuring tools and repair equipment to check panel dimensions and alignment.
- Follow manufacturer repair procedures and workshop quality standards.
- Inspect completed repairs to ensure the vehicle body meets required appearance and quality standards.
- Identify additional damage and report repair requirements to the supervisor or relevant personnel.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and workstations in clean and safe working condition.
- Follow workshop safety procedures when using power tools, lifting equipment, and other machinery.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow workplace health and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with automotive technicians, spray painters, estimators, and other workshop personnel.
- Minimize material waste and handle replacement parts and repair materials responsibly.
- Complete repair records and other job documentation as required.
- Perform other automotive body repair duties assigned by management.
