Electrical Engineer
Qualifications:
- Male applicants are preferred.
- Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, as specified by the employer.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in Oil & Gas engineering construction, refineries, petrochemical plants, industrial facilities, or energy projects.
- Proven experience in designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting heavy-duty electrical power systems.
- Strong knowledge of high-voltage electrical equipment, power distribution systems, motors, transformers, switchgear, and electrical protection systems.
- Experience supervising electrical installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Thorough understanding of hazardous-area classifications and international electrical standards including IEC, NEC, and IEEE.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and leadership skills.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
- Design, install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical power systems for industrial plants, refineries, pipelines, and Oil & Gas facilities.
- Supervise the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems.
- Manage high-voltage and low-voltage electrical equipment, including switchgear, transformers, motors, generators, MCCs, and control systems.
- Perform electrical fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, and corrective maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
- Conduct pre-commissioning, commissioning, functional testing, and system verification activities.
- Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and engineering specifications.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams during project execution.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure electrical work complies with project specifications and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with hazardous-area classifications and international electrical codes such as IEC, NEC, and IEEE.
- Prepare technical reports, inspection records, commissioning documentation, and maintenance reports.
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environment (HSE), electrical safety regulations, and company procedures.
- Provide technical support and engineering recommendations to improve system reliability and operational efficiency.
- Perform other electrical engineering duties assigned by project management.
