Hirade Jidosya Co., Ltd is seeking qualified and hardworking Automotive Mechanics specializing in Car Body Painting under the Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) program to work in Japan. The successful candidates will assist with vehicle body preparation, repair, surface treatment, painting, and finishing while maintaining high standards of workmanship, quality, and workplace safety.
AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC (Car Body Painting) (SSW)
Qualifications:
- Male, 25–35 years old.
- At least High School Graduate.
- Minimum of one (1) year relevant work experience.
- Physically and emotionally healthy and capable of performing automotive body painting work.
- Basic knowledge of automotive body preparation, painting, surface treatment, and finishing.
- Familiarity with sanding, masking, paint preparation, spraying, polishing, and related techniques.
- Able to use basic automotive body repair and painting tools safely and properly.
- Good attention to detail, especially in color matching and surface finishing.
- Able to follow technical instructions, workplace procedures, and safety standards.
- Responsible, hardworking, disciplined, and willing to work as part of a team.
- Willing to work in a workshop environment and perform physically demanding tasks when required.
- Willing to undergo four (4) months of Japanese language training, free of charge.
Responsibilities:
- Perform car body preparation and painting work according to required specifications and quality standards.
- Inspect vehicle bodies for scratches, dents, rust, damage, and surface imperfections.
- Prepare damaged surfaces through cleaning, sanding, grinding, masking, and other appropriate techniques.
- Assist with minor body repairs and preparation before painting.
- Apply primers, base coats, paints, clear coats, and other automotive finishing materials as required.
- Mix and prepare automotive paints and coatings according to specified procedures.
- Operate spray guns and other painting tools and equipment safely and properly.
- Ensure proper color matching and consistent paint application.
- Perform sanding, polishing, buffing, and finishing to achieve a smooth and high-quality appearance.
- Mask vehicle parts and areas that should not be painted.
- Inspect completed paintwork for defects such as uneven coating, runs, bubbles, scratches, or color inconsistencies.
- Perform necessary touch-ups, corrections, and rework when required.
- Maintain painting tools, equipment, spray booths, and work areas in clean and proper condition.
- Follow proper procedures for handling, storing, and disposing of paints, solvents, and other automotive chemicals.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling paint and chemical materials.
- Follow workplace safety, fire prevention, environmental, and chemical handling procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the automotive workshop.
- Coordinate with supervisors and other automotive workers to complete assigned vehicle repair and painting tasks.
- Follow Japanese workplace rules, technical instructions, and quality standards.
- Perform other automotive repair, body preparation, painting, and finishing duties as assigned.
