Dressmaker / Sewer

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience as a Dressmaker, Sewer, Tailor, or Garment Technician.
• Graduate of a Bachelor’s Degree, Vocational, Technical, or equivalent program.
• Must possess a valid passport with at least one (1) year of validity.
• Proficient in operating industrial sewing machines and garment production equipment.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, sewing techniques, alterations, and fabric handling.
• Ability to read and interpret garment patterns and production instructions.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality finished products.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Physically fit and capable of standing for extended periods while performing repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Measure, cut, sew, alter, and repair garments according to customer requirements or production specifications.
• Operate industrial and domestic sewing machines, overlock machines, and other garment production equipment.
• Read and interpret garment patterns, sketches, and technical specifications.
• Assemble garment components using appropriate stitching techniques and sewing methods.
• Perform fitting adjustments, hemming, resizing, zipper replacement, and other clothing alterations.
• Inspect fabrics and finished garments for defects, ensuring they meet quality standards.
• Press, iron, and finish garments before packaging or delivery.
• Select appropriate fabrics, threads, buttons, zippers, and other sewing materials.
• Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of sewing machines and equipment.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
• Meet production targets while maintaining high standards of workmanship and quality.
• Coordinate with supervisors and team members to complete production schedules on time.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and company quality control standards.
• Perform other tailoring and garment production duties assigned by management.
